What can the RIVER 3 actually run, and for how long?
Quick estimates at typical loads: phone ~20 charges, laptop ~3-4 charges, mini-fridge ~4 hours, CPAP ~6 hours, electric blanket ~3 hours, drone batteries ~4-5 charges. The EcoFlow app shows live runtime estimates based on whatever you have plugged in.
Can it run a kettle or a hairdryer?
The RIVER 3 outputs 300W continuously, with X-Boost handling up to 600W on demand. A small travel kettle (under 500W) works in X-Boost mode for short cycles. A standard kitchen kettle (1500W+) or hairdryer (1200W+) does not — you'd want the bigger RIVER 3 Plus or RIVER 3 Max for those.
How long does the battery last over years of use?
LiFePO₄ chemistry is rated for 3,000+ full charge cycles to 80% remaining capacity. If you fully discharged and recharged it every single day, that's still 8+ years of daily use. Most users cycle it weekly at most, so realistically you're looking at 15+ years.
Can I take it on a plane?
Generally no — most airlines restrict lithium batteries over 100Wh in carry-on and forbid them entirely in checked baggage. The RIVER 3 is 245Wh, well above the threshold. It's fine for car, RV, train, and boat travel.
Does it work with solar panels?
Yes — accepts up to 110W of solar input via the included XT60-to-MC4 cable. Any 11-30V solar panel with MC4 connectors will work. A 100W panel fully recharges the RIVER 3 in about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight.
What's the warranty and how do I claim it?
5-year full warranty from EcoFlow, covering manufacturing defects and battery degradation below spec. Register through the EcoFlow app within 30 days of purchase. If anything fails, contact us first — we handle the warranty claim on your behalf, no shipping back to China.
